MS & Main St Academic Challenge Teams DOMINATE
Grades 5-8 Win County Tournament
The Academic Challenge teams for grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 competed on March 3, 2011 against other Huron County schools. All FOUR teams won at their grade level and will compete at the district level later on March 23 at BGSU-Firelands Campus against the winners from Ottawa and Erie counties. It has been a few years since all four grades have qualified.

The other schools competing at the fifth grade level were New London, South Central, and Monroeville. These schools also fielded a sixth grade team, as did Norwalk Catholic.
Team members for fifth grade are Zoe Austin, Ethan Coover, David Doll, Julian Go, Alaina Kelley, Maggie Love, Dylan Mattingly, Christopher Tuttle, and Rachel Wilkins.
Sixth grade participants are Brandi Braker, Miranda Ewell, Rilee Horowitz, Jacob Martin, Colleen Miller, JD Smith, and Dylan Reineck.
The Main St teams are coached by Mrs. Beabout and Ms. Burns.
Congratulations to the seventh and the eighth grade Norwalk Middle School Academic Challenge Teams! Both teams defeated five other teams on Friday, March 4, 2011 to become the champions of Huron County.

Seventh grade participants are Gregg Berry, Michaila Bigler, Saramae Blake, Tyler Boyd,, Ashtyn Ley, Alex Penrose, Ben Silcox, Alyssa Tuttle. That team scored a total of 31 points during the match.
Eighth grade participants are Adam Francis, Ben Hohman, Luke Landis, Noah Little, Delaney Peterson, Elliot Rhodes, Mackensey Thomas, Jennifer Young. The 8th grade team scored a total of 47 points during the match.
The Norwalk Middle Schools are coached by Mrs. Little and Mrs. Pietrangelo.
Both teams will now complete in the Tri-County Academic Challenge Match on March 23, 2011 at Firelands College against the county winners from Erie and Ottawa.
